Your FICO® Score is calculated based on five factors: payment history, amount owed, length of credit history, new credit, and credit mix.. CCCU makes it easy to stay informed.
If you are curious about credit scores and what qualifies as good credit versus bad credit, you are not alone! Credit score has a big impact on your life, from whether or not you are approved for loans or mortgages to the rate and terms you receive. Poor credit scores can also impact getting approved for a rental agreement, electricity, cell service, credit cards, and so much more.
Credit scores typically range anywhere from 300 to 850. While different lenders can have different criteria when it comes to approvals and rates, here is a guideline to help you find out what is a good credit score:
“What I liked about CCCU was that they helped me get my first credit card without withholding our money.”
Albano R.“My credit score was dinged due to a fraudulent unpaid cable bill. Nick was awesome, finding out the root of its bogusness and giving me advice on how to get it taken off my credit score. He was spectacular!”
Reed B.“I've belonged to other larger credit unions before this one and - although the atmosphere in them was certainly better than a typical bank - I found the loan services in the other credit unions to be exactly like a normal bank, relying in the end on standard algorithms. This group was the only credit union (or bank) that I encountered where a single person worked with me from start to finish (no separation between sales and loan officer), and the only credit union that really took a careful individual look at assets, history, etc. So...I highly recommend them for both everyday banking and loans.”
