CCCU is Going Gray in May in Support of Brain Cancer Awareness

May is recognized as Brain Cancer Awareness Month and we’d like to dedicate the month to honoring Michelle Douvris.

Michelle was an Operations Manager and a dedicated CCCU employee for 9 years. Her unwavering dedication and infectious spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. In October 2022, she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer that she sadly lost her battle to on April 1, 2024.

#GrayMay is more than just a hashtag; it's our commitment to actively support those affected by brain tumors. We invite you to join us in this meaningful endeavor as we strive to raise funds to support Michelle's 13-year-old son and her family in covering the expenses of her end-of-life care and funeral arrangements.

You'll notice our employees proudly donning Gray May t-shirts throughout the month. These shirts are also available for purchase for $10 each at any branch location. All proceeds will directly benefit Michelle's GoFundMe campaign. Every dollar brings us one step closer to alleviating the financial burden weighing on her family's shoulders.

In addition to financial support, we will celebrate Michelle's spirit by placing a plaque on the tree at the Sandy branch—a living testament to her dedication and enduring legacy. This tree, which she lovingly watered and nurtured, stands as a symbol of growth and resilience, much like Michelle herself.

To learn more about Michelle's story and contribute to her cause, we encourage you to visit her GoFundMe page. Your support, in any form, is greatly appreciated and a testament to the power of community. Together, we can honor Michelle's memory and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she held dear.
